Hola Amigos,

All journeys start with a small step, and step by step, I will be completing the 70.30 Ironman in Rwanda on 14-August 2022. Every journey also has a purpose, and mine is to support girls’ education in Rwanda, a country where only 3% of girls pursue higher education and where I feel we can try to make a difference.

I am humbled to join efforts with Rwanda Girls Initiative, whose mission is to educate and empower girls of Rwanda to reach their highest potential. They founded Gashora Girls Academy of Science and Technology, an upper-secondary boarding school in Rwanda that provides 270 girls in 10th-12th grade with an outstanding college-prep education. Investing in girls’ education, especially secondary education, is one of the most powerful levers one can pull to spark systemic change.

I will run, swim, and bike to support their efforts, and I’d be honored to share my journey with you. You can follow the progress here and on my Instagram account. Let’s envision a world with the talented women in Gashora Academy at the helm, leading us into a brighter, more equitable future. I encourage all of you to reflect on the privileges you have and those you don’t have and help them make a change.

If we manage to raise 2500$, that will pay a full scholarship for a student for a year. Will you help us make that happen?
